DSB Celebrates What’s Ahead for Claycomb
At Dallas Select Baseball, moments like this are why we do the work. We are excited to publicly cheer on Jeffrey Claycomb as his name continues to gain real traction at the highest levels of the game.
Jeffrey is an Ohio State commit, an MLB Draft prospect, and has earned interest from multiple MLB organizations, including the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Guardians, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Boston Red Sox. That level of attention is not accidental. It is the result of consistent performance, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
His high school résumé speaks for itself. Jeffrey has been recognized across multiple classifications and seasons, earning 11 5A 2023 Utility Player of the Year, 9 6A 2024 Offensive Player of the Year, and 9 6A 2025 Defensive Player of the Year. He also earned 9 6A 2025 Defensive Player of the Year honors, recording 141 total chances with a 1.000 fielding percentage. He is a two time All State selection, the 2025 DFW 6A stolen bases leader as a catcher, and a two time THSBB Player to Watch in Region 2. Those accolades reflect versatility, reliability, and impact on both sides of the ball.
On the team level, he has earned two Silver Slugger awards and a Defensive award, reinforcing what evaluators already see on the field. He impacts games in every phase.
During the summer circuit, Jeffrey elevated himself into rare company. He was selected to the Texas Scout All Star Game and the Area Code Select Game, competed at the Perfect Game National Showcase where he recorded the second fastest pop time nationally and the fastest pop time in Texas, and was one of only seven catchers nationally to receive a 10 grade ranking. He also participated in the 2024 Futures Game, further cementing his national profile as both a college and professional prospect.
Aside from Jeffrey’s work ethic and relentless pursuit of excellence, Dallas Select Baseball was fortunate to play a small supporting role along the way. Through our network and advocacy, we helped get his name and profile in front of one of the Texas Rangers’ master scouts, helping add another set of eyes to what Jeffrey was already proving on the field. We also pursued opportunities to assist the family in navigating the agent process by offering guidance and connections. Ultimately, Jeffrey and his family secured representation on their own, which speaks to both their diligence and the momentum he has built.
In addition to his playing career, Jeffrey has already begun giving back to the game through instruction. For those interested in catching and hitting lessons, more information can be found here:

We are proud of how Jeffrey represents himself, his teammates, and the logo on his chest. His path is a strong example of what intentional development looks like when preparation meets opportunity.
Dallas Select Baseball will continue to support and cheer for Jeffrey Claycomb as he moves forward. We are excited to see what the future holds.
Dallas Select Baseball would like to welcome Ben Edge to the DSB family.
Ben will serve as our Head Coach for 17U and Director of Player Development for the High School Division.
Ben brings a strong background in Texas high school and select baseball, with experience as a varsity head coach, varsity hitting coach, strength and conditioning coordinator, and select baseball instructor. He has worked with players who have gone on to earn college baseball scholarships and has coached multiple players who were drafted at the professional level. As a head coach, he helped lead a program back to the playoffs for the first time in ten years.
In this role, Ben will lead our 17U team while also helping establish development standards across our high school teams. His focus will be on long term player development, preparation for competitive environments, and helping families navigate the recruiting process with clarity and honesty.
We are excited to have Ben join Dallas Select Baseball and look forward to building together.
